Spreading Awareness through Our Platform 

In 2023, our marketing team initiated a program to spotlight local organizations dedicated to making a real difference in their communities. Many of them have impactful missions but struggle for visibility. Our goal is to amplify their voices by creating promotional content for their events, using our marketing resources to give them the exposure they deserve. 

Project Managers Making a Difference 

Our project managers have had many instances where they have dedicated their time to helping our community. From uniting together to provide a struggling veteran with a new roof to supporting Can Play by helping raise money to then be donated to their organization.  

In 2022, we were able to provide a veteran with a new roof so that they could feel safe, comfortable, and at home in their house. In 2023, our commitment continued as we pledged to the host of Hello Iowa, Megan Reuther, that we would donate $10 to Can Play for every property evaluation conducted from July to August. Our team worked diligently, not only providing property owners with a baseline of their home or business, but also contributing to the exceptional cause of Can Play. This pledge served as powerful motivation, driving our project managers to go above and beyond in their efforts. 

The Spirit of Giving During the Holidays 

Our team takes pride in its unity, especially during the holiday season, when our collaborative spirit shines. Each year, we form a dedicated Christmas committee, inviting interested employees to contribute their time and ideas for giving back. 

 

We believe in empowering every team member to support causes they are passionate about. In 2023, our committee members collectively allocated a portion of our Christmas budget towards several organizations, including Ronald McDonald, Hope Ministries, Joppa, Hathorn Hill, Many Hands, and Urbandale Community Action Network (UCAN) Adopt a Family. UCAN Adopt a Family presented a unique opportunity for our team to come together to go shopping and handpick gifts to wrap and deliver. Getting to provide gifts that were personal, we believed would bring an extra layer of joy to the homes of families on Christmas morning. 

 

Investing in Our Youth 

In 2022, we began our partnership with a new organization called Avenue Scholars. Annually, they bring a group of enthusiastic, eager-to-learn students to our office for a tour of each department, educational speeches, and demonstrations by our professionals. We give the students a chance to be hands-on by providing them with the opportunity to climb onto our demonstration roof, test our podcast room, and have a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to fly one of our drones. Doing this provides a unique educational experience for students, offering them valuable insights into diverse professional fields and showcasing the multitude of roles within a company. They get to immerse themselves in our day-to-day operations, gaining a firsthand understanding of how a business functions. This introduces them with a chance to see what the real-world work environment is like. It helps their personal and educational development. The program plays a crucial role in guiding them towards more informed decisions about their future careers, sparking inspiration for varied and exciting paths ahead and we are honored to be a part of it.

Below is the list of organizations our team has given back to along with a brief description of their mission and a link to their websites. 

  • Joppa: 
    • Mission: Joppa is dedicated to providing shelter, food, and sustainable assistance to those experiencing homelessness. They aim to restore hope, provide unconditional love, and prevent homelessness. 
  • Ronald McDonald: 
    • Mission: Ronald McDonald House Charities supports families with sick children by providing housing, resources, and a supportive environment, ensuring they can stay together during difficult times. 
  • Urbandale Community Action Network (UCAN): 
    • Mission: UCAN is committed to providing support for those in need in Urbandale. Through initiatives like Urbandale Adopt a Family during Christmas, UCAN connects community members in need of help during the holidays with individuals who can help during this challenging time of the year. 
  • Iowa Shrine Bowl: 
    • Mission: Iowa Shrine Bowl organizes football events to raise funds and awareness for Shriners Hospitals for Children, providing specialized pediatric care regardless of the family’s ability to pay. 

 

  • St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital: 
    • Mission: St. Jude is dedicated to treating and curing pediatric catastrophic diseases. Families never receive a bill, allowing them to focus on their child’s health. 
  • Iowa SIDS Foundation: 
    • Mission: The Iowa SIDS Foundation is committed to preventing sudden, unexpected infant deaths and providing support to grieving families through education, outreach, and resources. 
  • Iowa June Tenth: 
    • Mission: Iowa June Tenth celebrates and educates about Juneteenth, promoting awareness of African American history and culture, and advocating for equality and justice. 
  • Coco’s Heart Dogs: 
    • Mission: Coco’s Heart Dogs is dedicated to rescuing and rehoming dogs in need, providing them with a second chance at a loving home through adoption and community outreach. 
  • The Friendship Center: 
    • Mission: The Friendship Center fosters community and support for individuals with mental health challenges, offering resources and programs to enhance their overall well-being. 
  • Children’s Cancer Connection:

    • Mission: Hope Ministries addresses poverty and homelessness by providing shelters, meals, and support services, aiming to transform lives through compassion and practical assistance. 
  • Life 107.1: 
    • Mission: Life 107.1 is a Christian radio station that aims to inspire and uplift individuals through positive music, messages, and community engagement, fostering spiritual growth and connection. 
  • Can Play: 
    • Mission: Can Play is dedicated to creating inclusive play environments for children of all abilities, advocating for accessible and universally designed playgrounds that promote social interaction and physical activity. 
  • Avenue Scholars: 
    • Mission: Avenue Scholars empowers students to achieve their education and career goals by providing comprehensive support, mentoring, and resources, with a focus on creating pathways to success. 
  • Universal Barber Shop:

  • Rebuild Des Moines: 
    • Mission: Rebuilding Together Greater Des Moines is a nonprofit that enhances the quality of life for low-income, veteran, disabled, and elderly homeowners by providing critical home repairs and fostering safe and healthy living environments.
